From the good 1998 vintage and scoring 87/100 Parker points, this stunning port is "Located in the Tavora Valley, Quinta do Panascal was purchased by Fonseca in 1978. Not only does the Panascal 1998 appear more advanced than the Guimaraens 1996, but the nose is also more mature with rounded, voluptuous notes of sloes, mulberry, toffee and leather. The palate is full-bodied with luscious, supple black fruit infused with white pepper." Drink now - 2021.

From the outstanding 2000 vintage and scoring 95/100 parker points, this super port is a "Dense ruby/purple-colored, with an exotic, exuberant perfume of black fruits, flowers, incense, and licorice, this unctuously-textured, full-bodied port is one of the most concentrated of the vintage. Sweet, expansive, and succulent, this large-scaled, but remarkably well-balanced effort is surprisingly forward and accessible."

Its sweet black mass of dark fruit and spice aromas leads to a character of immense depth, richness, and weight. Full-bodied, viscous, and almost impenetrable, this dense, backward port is powerful and exceptionally long in the finish. Possibly the most masculine Fonseca I’ve ever encountered, it coats the taster’s palate with licorice, jammy black fruits, and notes of chocolate that last for over a minute." Drink now - 2060. Full-bodied, viscous, and almost impenetrable, this dense, backward port is powerful and exceptionally long in the finish. From the very good 2007 vintage, and scoring 94/100 Parker points "The 2007 Fonseca Vintage Port is opaque purple-colored with a high-class perfume of lavender, Asian spices, pencil lead, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits. On the palate it is voluminous with layered, succulent fruit, outstanding density, and excellent integration of tannin, acidity, and alcohol. The long finish and the wine’s impeccable balance suggest a lengthy evolution and a drinking window extending out to 2045." Drink now - 2045.
